At the eastern end of the lake which is all in Italy, Porlezza is the main town sitting at the extreme east end. Italys' lakes lie in a series of long, deep valleys running down onto the plains from the Alps, Lake Maggiore perhaps being the most elegant. Former 17th century convent, recently renovated, with great care taken in restoring the frescoes and installing modern facilities. The result is a tasteful mixture of modern facilities and antique furnishing and decor. Wonderful views over the waters of Lake Maggiore, which can be enjoyed from both the house and the spacious terrace furnished with an outside dining area, perfect for al fresco dining. A spring water outdoor tub has been installed in the terraced garden and is ideal for cooling off during hot summer days. The location is the perfect spot for exploring the lovely renowned small towns of Lake Maggiore and for the gourmet specialties of Lombardy’s and Piedmont’s cuisine. The nearest golf course is only 6 km from the property and several among the most renowned Italian golf courses are reachable within a 20 minute drive. About 45 miles from Milan airport of Malpensa.
