The Washington Post February 24, 2002 "The Greek National Tourist Organization (212-421-5777, www.gnto.gr) provides a list of approved firms renting villas in Greece: Villa companies that offer lodging on various islands include European Escapes, (www.EuropeanEscapes.com), which will also arrange yacht charters."
Kansas City Star February 24, 2002 "You and yours can have the run of a stately residence...and best of all, split among our three families, the cost of this Tuscan jewel equaled what we would have spent for a week at a family resort -- but we got more for our money...European Escapes (www.EuropeanEscapes.com) rents castles, as well as other properties, throughout Europe."
"European Escapes, also in California, represents luxury properties on the more popular Greek islands of Santorini, Crete and Rhodes, and also on several lesser-known islands. On the fashionable island of Mykonos, for example, you can rent a six-bedroom villa with private pool and steps to the sea for $8,400 a week during high season. Info: www.EuropeanEscapes.com." CNN,
March 9, 2001 Paris, France (CNN) --"Imagine
waking up in your own Parisian penthouse and looking out the window to see the
golden dome of Hotel des Invalides gleaming in the morning sun. Or
rising to the sounds of busy Paris streets as the booksellers open their stalls
on the banks of the Seine, and you head for your own kitchen in your
17th-century apartment. For the adventurous traveler, renting a flat can be the
key to transforming from visitor to local.

Commercial Appeal 2001 International Herald Tribune, March 17, 2000: "How to Find a Great Summer Villa On-Line: Start NowWHERE will you be in August? The answer may be on your computer. The Internet is chockablock right now with summer rentals, from castles on private islands to caravans. But log on soon; pickings will be slim in a month. Visiting villas and other vacation homes on-line is the next best thing to checking them out in person. Many sites provide more choice than rental brochures and more information on each property. The pictures are often better, too, enabling a prospective tenant to ''tour'' a villa from home or office. European Escapes (www.EuropeanEscapes.com) is a good bet. Their site lists more than 4,000 properties, ranging from $500 a week to $25,000. Rentals sell out so early that the site is now featuring selected specials, from budget options up to and including the Villa de Valle in the French Luberon, a five-bedroom house that costs $13,000"
Arthur Frommer's Budget Travel, Nov. 1999 "...one company has truly impressed us, both for the quality of their villas as well as the reasonableness of their rates. We're talking about European Escapes, a long established firm that currently represents over 1000 properties all across Europe. A good number are in the budget range, some starting as low as $22. per person, per night. Other goodies? This agency rents more properties in Greece than any other American agency (the owner is of Greek descent), so the rates for this region, including some of the pricier Greek Isles, tend to be excellent. In Italy, the company can book everything from apartments in Rome and Venice (starting at just $35 per person per day) to villas in Tuscany, Umbria and the Amalfi Coast. Also available are properties in Portugal, England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, Ireland and the Czech Republic. European Escapes' staff have all lived in Europe and return whenever they can. The company was founded over ten years ago and has been doing business through the Internet since 1996."

Years of excellence, experience & positive press
Some grateful words from our clients:
•We had an absolutely wonderful holiday at
Villa Sambuco, the villa was perfect, it far exceeded our expectations
and was so well equipped (possibly a faster coffee machine was all it
lacked!) There was ample space for all 16 of us and the location was
great, the owner was very helpful and sorted any problems straight away,
10 out of 10.

•We
had a fantastic holiday, the villa was lovely – the pictures on the
website did not do it justice! There was so much space, especially
around the pool and they had put a gate up at the entrance to the
pool area so it was totally safe for toddlers. Also the owner & his
wife were great and very responsive – eg, when the air – con wasn’t
working, they came round to fix it straight away etc. Really a great
experience. Thanks so much for your help •Just to let you know that we all had an
absolutely fabulous time at Villa Mermaid. The location was fantastic, the views
breathtaking and the Villa itself wonderful. Thank you very much for all your
assistance.
•The Kitzstein chalet was absolutely
fantastic and we had a great week skiing.
I just wanted to let you know that we have
just returned from our trip to Italy and the
Boschetti property was fantastic! The pictures on your site don't do it
justice, actually. The owner met us at the property and was very accommodating,
the housekeeper was very nice (and, by the way, you can arrange to have her cook
dinners for you on Tuesday and Thursday). Thank you again for a wonderful
holiday!!!
We got back from Greece last week and had a wonderful time at
Villa Petros. The villa is much larger and nicer than the photos
show. It was a real luxury to stay there. Lefteris and his wife were outstanding and extremely helpful and kind. The beach was great and we had it virtually to
ourselves. The Greek people are wonderful. Karystos is a very local fishing port and it was nice to get away from the tourist areas.
The villa was a wonderful respite - Thanks for organising it. I will check out European Escapes next summer
for our travels.
Dear European Escapes,
Having just returned
from the Kitzbuehel Alpenglow Chalet, I wanted to tell
you that we were very happy with everything and heartily recommend the Chalet and would like to stay there
again sometime. Myself and sons are all in the hotel business so we appreciate a nice
place such as this.
Our family holiday in Kitzbuehel was the best ever and we loved the
chalet... Just wanted to drop you a note about our recent trip to Italy.
The accommodations at the villa were excellent. We had a great time there with the kids and the rest
of our family. The place is better than advertised, very spacious, well equipped and
maintained. Three of the bedrooms had queen size beds! The owners were pleasant and honest. Grandmon came every night to feed the
dogs and the chickens and to water the beautiful flowers. This property is a true
gem. Thanks for your help in making this a thoroughly enjoyable trip!
Just to let you know that the
property was perfect...my family had a WONDERFUL time. Hope to rent it
again in the future..
Thanks for arraging our stay at
Antibes Mas Villa. We loved the house, it was
great and perfect for the family holiday; clean, well furnished, good beds
and the pool was great, we swam every day and it was just a short drive to beach, we recommend Antibes Mas to other people.
Spetses was the most fabulous place, the people were wonderful, and the
villa was to die for, pictures absolutely don't do it justice, the owners
even brought us gifts when we left. An idyllic holiday,
We had a wonderful time at the Ronda Country Villa -- the
house was spectacular and the setting magnificent. Thanks for all your help in
arranging our terrific holiday - we'll be contacting you in the future for our
next trip. We're having a great time here, Italy is beautiful and the
Castello Apartment is absolutely wonderful
-- better than you said and better than we imagined! Thank you for all your help,
you'll definitely be hearing from us again for future travel accommodations. Thank you for everything you did for me and my family,
everyone had a wonderful time at the villa in Syros.
We're proud to have given thousands of travelers such wonderful memories over the years...and we look forward to adding you to our list of satisfied clients...
